Held on 20th June 2025, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ELEVATE Research & Health Services Limited brought together our team, partners, collaborators, and supporters to reflect on the achievements of the past year and share our vision for the year ahead.
The meeting highlighted our growth as a health research and community-focused organization, our expanding portfolio of work, and our commitment to evidence-based action for better health outcomes in Uganda.
Key Achievements: July 2024–June 2025
Webinars & Knowledge Sharing
We successfully hosted four impactful webinar sessions, focusing on:
- Climate change and vector-borne diseases
- The Mpox outbreak in Uganda
- Uganda’s healthcare system amidst recent U.S. executive orders
- The public health impact of the malaria vaccine rollout
Each session brought together thought leaders from academia, government, and civil society to discuss urgent public health topics and strategies for resilience.
Research & Capacity Building
- Short Course in Scientific Writing & Publication: Engaged participants in practical sessions on academic writing and editing.
- Qualitative Data Analysis Course: Provided hands-on training in Atlas.ti, NVivo, coding, theme development, and report writing.
- Grant Success: We secured 3 small grants and submitted over 10 grant proposals in 2025.
Community Engagement & Empowerment
We launched the Postgraduate Student Non-Interest Loan Fund (SNIL) to support Master’s students facing financial constraints. We also hosted a Post-Graduation Catch-Up Event, connecting recent graduates with senior researchers to mentor and guide them into the professional world.
Institutional Growth
Opened a new office in Nakimuli Mall, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District.
Improved our website with new features including team bios, service pages, and a blog section.
Released our first bi-annual newsletter, summarizing our work and inviting broader community engagement.
Looking Ahead
We identified opportunities to grow through:
- Continued grant writing and mentorship initiatives
- Expansion of the ELEVATE Webinar Series
- Collaborative projects in WASH, SRHR, NTDs, and infectious diseases
- Internships and training programs for students and early-career researchers
